This past week on ESPN RADIO 1700 I was happy to host another Fresh & Fit Meals Healthy Lifestyle segment on the "The Core Hour Live" with hosts Anthony Lococo and Oscar Gastelum.  This month I invited Brett Melton of AllNet Basketball Academy to join us for our monthly chat.

We mainly spoke about how he started AllNet Basketball Academy for the youth of San Diego.  Not only has he created a youth basketball league but AllNet hosts skill clinics that usually have a special guest pro athletes that not only help the kids with their on the court skills but also teaches valuable life skills.  Brett Melton was a former highly recruited college basketball player for the University of Illinois.  After college Brett headed out west and landed here in San Diego where he started his AllNet Basketball Academy and continues to uplift the youth, bringing out the best in them through his love and passion for basketball.

Brett Melton, and his wife, have started a non-profit called Thinkful Thinking geared towards helping under privileged children.  Thinkful Thinking is a non-profit on a mission to enpower and restore happiness to underprivileged children through arts, sports and recreation.  His wife, Talia Hayward, is an established artist herself and has and amazing colletion of penny portraits.  Her art is amazing larger than life size portraits of likes of Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan to name a few, all made out of pennies.  The entire story they share is pretty amazing itself and you would be cheating yourself if you didn't get a chance to hear it for yourself.

To hear listen in on this episode you can catch the link on www.thecorehourlive.com and to learn more about the great things they are up to visit their website www.thinkfulthinking.org and www.allnetbasketballacademy.com
